Campvue

It's the Campvue, yellow REI tent in the shot above again! I know, I say this a lot! But proof that I spent the night here... a couple nights in fact. There's three loops, A, B and C. Site 40 is on the outer edge of B, bordering C. Site 40 is very similar to most of the sites here. It's under a dense canopy of large trees that provide excellent shade most, if not all the day. It has a humongous driveway, especially in width. Unusually wide for most campgrounds, so handy for a bigger rig. The main gripe I have is the neighboring sites are a little close...so not the most private, and when I arrived I worried at first, but turned out, it was probably the most well behaved campground I've ever seen. Everyone was an angel. So the stay was as pleasant as it could be. The best part is the setting of the Fruita area. There is a historic barn and home, that sells famous pies. Horses roam the farmland, and there are orchards throughout the property. All set in front of a red rock backdrop. It's really something else. And there's tons of deer roaming about the campground at all times of day. Lots of them! Site 40 was an excellent site. The best shaded campsite I've had in a long time in an otherwise desert setting. Setting up my tent was also easy and the ground level. I really have no complaints, but could see if a rowdy group sets up nearby, that's the only thing that could sour an experience here. Hopefully you have the same luck I did if you choose this site, but now you know... I loved it!
