Site 12 at Upper Lehman Creek is quite possibly my favorite campsite of 2025. And if you follow Campvue closely, you'd know it has some serious competition. What made this a standout are several things. Like most of the campgrounds in Upper Lehman, site 12 has exquisite privacy for a National Park Campground. I wish other National Parks would take note. You of course get your usual basic amenities here, like a picnic table and fire ring, but one thing I loved as a tent camper is the spot where you set up your tent was nice and tucked away from other sites, and the ground was perfectly level, and large enough to accommodate a larger family-style tent. The best feature of all is, Upper Lehman Creek runs right behind this site. So you hear the gentle sound of a babbling brook at all times. I would take a fold out chair back into the woods along the creek and drink my morning coffee and just take in the ambience. It was so relaxing and wonderful. I am a greenhorn when it comes to fishing as I just started to learn, but the rangers told me that this creek is home to the Bonneville trout, and you can fish here with a Nevada state fishing license. I did not have time, but was told the area around this campground has some of the best spots to do so inside the park. Because things are so nicely spread out, I barely noticed any nearby neighbors, both visually or by sound. I had some of the best sleep of any night on my camping tour. Outside of basic amenities, this campground is pretty rustic... they do have a few vault toilets (one of which is right across the street from site 12), and they were exquisitely clean and odor free. One last note I'll make is this campground is kind of in the middle of the park, maybe halfway-ish up the mountain, so you if you head down the mountain a small ways, the well-known Lehman Caves are very close by, and if you head up the mountain, you'll find overlooks and trailheads at the highest elevations near Wheeler Peak. It's arguably one of the most convenient locations to hunker down for a night or two inside this lesser visited National Park. So, make note, especially tent campers... site 12 is about a perfect a site as you might find, although driving through the campground showed me virtually any site looks amazing! You really cannot go wrong here at Upper Lehman Creek!
