Sunset Campground is a tricky one. If there's one thing that stood out to me when I toured Sunset on foot, it's that this campground has an abundance of unlevel campsites. More than one hilly spot. But the good news here with 255, as you can probably tell by the video above, is that this one is not one of those. 255 is nice and level, and great for a tent, like my yellow REI tent seen above from this trip. So we'll start with that. If a level site is important to you, pay attention when you shop, as many other sites in this place are not. But 255 is a safe choice in this regard. Like most sites in this area of the campground, it's pretty open and neighboring sites are close by, so privacy is not the greatest, but also not the worst I've experienced. The site is next to the campground drive, but inside the campground, traffic is usually sparse, so that did not bother me. Not too much traffic during my stay. There is a restroom with a flushing toilet nearby, a short walk from the campsite. So convenient in that regard. I don't think the section 255 is in is good for large rigs, but there was plenty of room for my pick up truck. And in Bryce, camping is almost worth it for the parking spot alone. Those who have been know what I mean... One neat thing is the famous Bryce rim trail and Sunset Point are a comfortable walk away, so chances are, you may not need your vehicle here anyway, especially if you take advantage of the park shuttle. There are no showers here, but you can buy tokens for a shower at a general store a short drive away, inside the park. And there's tons of dining options right outside the park gates, so if you don't want to rough it too much, civilization and a hot cup of coffee are not far. I would've given 255 more than 3 stars if campsite spacing and privacy were better, but if I had to summarize 255, like I said earlier, it is a safe choice, especially if you are a tent camper. I don't think you will be disappointed, but you probably won't be wowed by it either.
