I camped at site D-93 back in July of 2023, so writing a review based on that stay. But, I can confirm, the site has not changed based on the footage above, so I can write this with confidence. Colter Bay campground is a popular choice for tent campers and RV'ers alike, inside of Grand Teton National Park. Starting with site 93, as you can see, its best suited for a tent camper, although if you are in a large rig, never fear as much of this campground caters to large vehicles. 93 is nice and level and perfect for a tent, and the pines surrounding the site provide occasional shade at different times of the day, although as you can see, in midday the site does get some direct sun. Like many of the campsites in this campground, privacy is generally excellent. The trees help to block sight lines to neighboring campsites, giving site 93 a nice tucked-away feel. You get the usual national park campsite amenities of a picnic table and fire ring, but they also provide you a bear locker as this region is known for its bears, namely grizzly and black bear, although chances are if you are going to have a run-in with any bears at this campground, it would likely be of the black variety. Chances are best that you will not see any however. If you like to camp in comfort and have access to lots of amenities, you'll love Colter Bay. Adjacent to the campground is Colter Bay Village, where you'll find many services like a general store, gift shop, restaurants, laundry and showers. It's one of those choices that might be perfect for first time campers looking to dip their toes into the camping waters. There were also restrooms with flushing toilets spread throughout the campground, and I found them to be clean and ample. Finally, you are also very close, and perhaps within walking distance, to the shores of Jackson Lake, where you'll get some amazing views of the Grand Teton mountains. Do note I never saw any lake views from within the campground, as you are in a dense pine forest, but it is right next door. So if you are looking for a nice mix of forest camping, decent privacy, rich amenities and a great location for a base of operations during your stay in the Tetons, you can't go wrong with Colter Bay!
